I've attempted several titles and I guess I must be missing what other people find appealing. Her books are among the few I haven't made it through more than a chapter or two before I couldn't go further, so just not my thing. One made my skin crawl. With this book I cover mystery, romance, and supense. Then, I can say I am a very well-read reader. lolKailanahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11136262232046813471noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22500980.post-1157279978482338962006-09-03T04:39:00.000-06:002006-09-03T04:39:00.000-06:00Hmm...I really enjoy this series and I've read all...Hmm...I really enjoy this series and I've read all...what? 22 books? But I do realize that not all things are for everyone. Sorry to hear this was one of those things. I think the language stems from the fact that the characters (or least most of the characters) are cops and the books involve crime. It'd be kind of unrealistic I think, for a criminal to mutter "oh darn" when they're caught or when the cops stumble over a body. lol. But I do like the mysteries and the character development. I think that's what I like most about the series. Robb does a really good job with developing her characters. Or least for me. Good luck with your next read. :-)dancechicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10890938063309059435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22500980.post-1157258775151897162006-09-02T22:46:00.000-06:002006-09-02T22:46:00.000-06:00Kristina, the author is J.D. Of course, I skip the steamy sex because you can see it coming a mile away and the few I've read in her books are always the same, anatomically impossible. I just enjoy her take on the future and I think the mysteries are pretty good. And R***k is fine. But, you are right, there are much better books to be read. I read most of the Death series back in my less discerning days before I created "THE LIST". In my case it may have something to do with being taught as a child always to finish up my plate at the dinner table. It's only good manners. :-)

Hope school is going well.Library Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07175070463632523228noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22500980.post-1157197448410193842006-09-02T05:44:00.000-06:002006-09-02T05:44:00.000-06:00Ouch! It's not a genre I am drawn to, but for some reason I really enjoyed the one.

Isn't it difficult to set a book aside? Most of us tend to think...it's going to get better (it has to!). And, then, sometimes...it does! I think if it's really going badly (a true struggle to read) and we set it aside...we don't know what we're missing, so who cares? :)Joyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00832231139076878401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22500980.post-1157167011918293002006-09-01T21:16:00.000-06:002006-09-01T21:16:00.000-06:00Way to can the trash!Way to can the trash!Myke Weberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13515375816353987662noreply@blogger.com
