The Second Chair

by John Lescroart
Rating 4.25:5
Well developed characters who are real-life people with problems who are trying to solve puzzling crimes. A teenage boy is accused of killing his girlfriend and his drama teacher. The evidence is stacked against him. His lawyer makes a few misjudgements, so her boss becomes the second chair to help her with the trial.

I really enjoyed this book. A few surprises and a well-told story.

I love John Lescroart. Once you get into the characters, they seem like real people that you want to know more about.

I've started the Wild Swans; it reads almost like fiction. I think I'm really going to like it!

Hmm - haven't read any of his. Sounds like an addition to "the list"

I'm planning to get a few books on CD for my trip with Cassie this weekend (we're going to visit Julie). Maybe I'll look for something by this author.

I haven't read any of Lescroat's books either. Need to add him to my list. I'm still working my way through John Sandford's "Lucas Davenport" series.

Ah. That would be "Lescroart" (says she who doesn't like it when her name is misspelled! ;)

hi, booklogged!

So glad you enjoyed this book. I'm thinking about reading something chilling, maybe a short story,to celebrate Friday the 13th! :)

Jenclair, I'm going to be looking for more books by Lescroart. Hope you're enjoying Wild Swans. It could qualify for a Chunster Read.

SuziQ, is your list growing as fast as mine? It's crazy, isn't it? Whenever it starts to feel like a burden, I just shrug my shoulders and remind myself that I don't intend to read them all. The list just means I'll be reading fewer duds. Have you found that? Seems like the books lately are usually pretty darn good.

Susan, so good of you to come by a comment. Your site does not have a RSS link so my Sage can't look for new posts. The same with SuzieQ's. I need to remember to click on the link on my page, which I've grown unaccustomed to doing. I need to make myself a note.

Alyson, I think you and Cassie would both enjoy Lescroart. Sounds like you three are going to have another fun weekend. Be sure to tell all Julie's family Hello from me. Drive safely and have a great time. Love you.

Les, hmm, I haven't heard of the Lucas Davenport series. Guess I better look into it.

Lotus, it is Friday the 13th, isn't it? A short, spooky story sounds appropriate. I still have over 400 pages in this really big book we're doing for bookclub this Tuesday, so I better stick with it.

I haven't read any of his either and this one sounds like it'd be right up my alley! Thank you. :)

Hee hee - Yes!! My list is growing faster than I can read. Gives me lots to choose from :-)

Joy, sounds like your list is growing as fast as the rest of us bookbloggers. We need to read more and blog less, huh?

Booklogged ~ That would be a resounding YES! However, that's not going to happen. I love blogging and all that comes with it. I just need to adjust getting the chores done quicker to allot for some more reading time. Oh wait...that won't help, I don't do them now! LOL (JK)

Thanks for the tip on Sage - I've added that and enabled feeds. Thanks!

Blogging is definitely addictive, isn't it? I was proud of myself last night, though. We got home from a trip to the city at 2 am and I didn't run to the computer to check messages. I know. I can hear the applause and I thank-you.

SuzieQ, I just noticed that the Q in your blog name is no longer capitalized. How long has it been like that? Would you rather I called us Suzie without the Q?
Going to add you to my Sage right now.

SuziQ is good - online I usually get called either Suzi, SuziQ or just Q. I answer to all of 'em :-)

Where are you seeing the q in lower case - everything I look at has it capitalized except here where all the names are all in lower case.
