Series Challenge: I read 11 out of the 12.
Dec 1, 2007 - May 31, 2008My favorite was We Shall Not Sleep by Anne Perry. It was the final book of 5 in her WWI series. Loved the final books in the Narnia series. Immensely enjoyed The Bleeding Dusk by Colleen Gleason, Messenger of Truth by Jacqueline Winspear and Goodnight Irene by Jan Burke. Always a pleasure to read Elizabeth Peters and Terry Pratchett. All in all, a very rewarding list. Can't believe I haven't read Thursday Next: First Among Sequels yet. All was not in vane, however. The books I read were great.
Numb3rs Challenge: YIKES! I only read 2 of the 5.
My favorite of these two was Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale, but I thoroughly enjoyed Sixpence House, too.
Once Upon a Time II: Another poor showing - only 2 out of 5. My favorite was Light Fantastic. I enjoy Pratchett's writing, sense of humor and great stories.

Come the end of the year, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have quite a few unfinished challenges also. On the upside, you still got some great reads in from each of them! :-) Well done!

Hi there! If you're talking about Callista's Numbers Challenge, you might want to head over there because she extended it to August, I believe.
It's the reading that counts, not the finishing. Looks like you read some good books there!
I'm so impressed by YOU that you take on so many challenges and read so many great books--along with passing along great tips too all of us. I'm so impressed with ME that I've actually read a few of the books on these lists! I feel like I'm sitting at the "cool table" in the high school cafeteria. I love your reviews.
Thanks for the kind words about Goodnight, Irene. So glad you enjoyed it!

I'm sure I'll be right there in the unfinished challenges club by the end of the year. The fun is in trying, right?
Lezlie, joining challenges is so fun. I think it's making the lists.
Tara, thanks for telling me about the extension.
Carrie, I agree. The challenges are to encourage reading and to have fun. That I do.
Oh, Lisa, you are too nice. I get more reading done now than I did when I had young children.
Jan, how sweet of you to leave a comment. I absolutely loved Goodnight, Irene. It started me on a reading spree of your books.
Andi, it's nice to know I'm not alone.
I was going to mention the lists. I think you're right. I might really be all about the lists. :-)

I've become a challenge-dropout! While I love the lists and good intentions, I simply can't meet any of the goals. Don't. Let. Me. Join. Again!!
Your challenge efforts provide such variety!
My life is unfinished challenges!! Don't feel bad. Of course, I did just finish the Once Upon a Time Challenge!
I think you did well to read for so many! I have to limit the amount of challenges I join or they're all I'd be reading for. I guess one of the best parts about a reading challenge is not so much finishing the books as being exposed to what others are reading, eh?
I agree with Carrie and, honestly, it looks like you read quite a few. I'd be happy with what I finished; looks like you read some really good books.
You may not have finished, but it looks like you made wonderful progress!
I'm not doing so well on my challenges either. I hope all is going well with you as I see you haven't posted in a while!
Please change vane to vain.
Thanks
WHERE ARE YOU? Hope all is well and that you are just on vacation or something like that. Just wanted to let you know that you are missed.
At least you are woman enough to fess up to your challenge failures. I just let mine slide off into oblivion, never to be seen or mentioned again. I just signed up for the second installments of two challenges I didn't finish the first time - I really hope I can complete them this time.
Ditto to what Joy said! I was thinking it had been awhile - it's over a month! Hope all is well and you're just taking a blogging break.
Glad to see you posting! I just cannot do challenges. I'm way too picky and never sure what will suit after I finish a book. How exciting to get a comment from Jan Burke! I need to continue the Anne Perry WWI series. I've just read the first one but have all the others here ready to take on at some point.
Again, nice to see a new post from you. I'm going to start up again in a few weeks. I'm enjoying the break right now.
