If you like historical fiction, I think you will be very pleased with this book. Gunning tells the story of a young girl who becomes an indentured servant when her father sells her due to his dire circumstances. The political backdrop for this personal story of hardships is the colonists growing complaints of being taxed so heavily by the mother country without any representation.

Oh my goodness. Well after reading your review yesterday I was totally interested in this one so for sure I want to enter. My favorite historical novel to date has been The Autobiography of Henry VIII by Margaret George. Great giveaway!

I would have to say just about anything by Margaret George especially Cleopatra! I simply devour her books...I am patiently waiting for the next! Thanks for the great drawing!

This sounds like a very interesting book and I'm always excited to be introduced to new (to me, at least) authors.
I feel like I'm breaking the mold by not listing something by Margaret George (although I did very much enjoy both Autobiography of Henry VIII and Cleopatra), but I think I'd have to say Sunne in Splendor by Sharon Kay Penman.

I think Gone With The Wind is probably one of my favorite historical novels. Though I read and enjoy so many it's hard to choose :)

You want me to pick just one!? Just one?! LOL
Alright, well lets see I suppose that Katherine by Anya Seyton would be the one I picked if I had to pick just one.

I love Where the Red Ferns Grow, Gone with the Wind and Uprising. But it is hard to pick only three. Ooo wait I forgot about The Cay.

I'd love to be entered to win "Bound".
My favorite historical novel is The Scarlet Letter by Hawthorne.
My email is MyHandbagHabit@aol.com
Thanks!
That was a great review of Bound. Mmmmm, for non-fiction, I would recommend David McCullough's books. Fiction: I just finished a book about New York City in the thirties called North River by Pete Hamill. Very good.
Ooo...Thanks for the excellent book drawing!
My favorite historical fiction novel would have to be The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly.

How about The Agony and The Ectasy by Irving Stone.

THis is so much fun! One of my faves is a novel called The Widow of the South. Loved it!
This wounds like a good read. One of my favorite historical novels of all times is "Forever Amber." I remember at the time I was reading it how scandalous it seemed.
My favorite non-fiction is John Adams. I loved all the letters and how well McCullough put Adams' life into words that actually took me there. Almost like reading fiction.

Sounds like a great book. I'd love to win it. As for my favorite historical, I'm going to have to be boring and say GONE WITH THE WIND. I just read a good YA historical - FEVER 1793 by Laurie Halse Anderson.
Thanks for the chance to win a copy of "Bound" - it sounds like a really great novel.
One of my favorite historical novels is one I just read earlier this year: "City of Dreams" by Beverly Swerling. It's a long one, but very interesting with compelling characters.

I've heard so many great things about this book; I'd love to win a copy.
As for my favorite historical fiction, I'm going with the first one that comes to mind: Falling Angels by Tracy Chevalier.
I love historical fiction, so I have a ton of faves. Here are the first few that come to mind: Trinity by Leon Uris, Guernica by Dave Boling, Burning Bright by Tracey Chevalier, The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent. I could go on and on!
Thanks for hosting the giveaway.

I'd love to be entered to win. I have so many favorite historical novels, but I am a fan of Gunning's earlier book, The Widow's War. My email is gentlereader1(at)hotmail.com. Thanks!
Since Gone with the Wind has been said a million times, my next most favorite historical fic novel is probably Here Be Dragons by Sharon Penman. She is such a wonderful author, and this one in particular was fantastic!
I think my favorite is Under an English Heaven -- a WWII novel. I can't remember the author's name.

This is tough since there is so much good historical fiction out there. My favorite right now is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. It's got the historical fiction, romance and time travel. :)
