The Cat Who Wasn't There

by Lilian Jackson Braun
Rating 3.25/5
Braun's cat mysteries aren't very intensive, but they are fun and perfect for listening to while running errands around town. I really like the main character, Jim Qwilleran. Qwilleran owns 2 Siamese cats that help him solve mysteries. The title for this book in the series comes from the fact that a murder takes place in Scotland, where Qwilleran was on a sight-seeing trip, and still Koko was able to 'hint' to Qwilleran who the murderer was.

This book actually has several mysteries intertwined and is a bit more complex than the 2 or 3 others I've read. Even at that it took several tapes before the story really got rolling.

I've never read any of them although I've seen them mentioned before. Sounds like a fun series!

Haven't listened to this one yet. My Husband and I use this series for road trip audiobooks.

Light mysteries are some of my favorite driving around town and commute time listening.

I have a question... for the classics challenge, what do we do once we've finished one book? Post about it on our blog? This is my first challenge and I'm not 100% sure how these things work. Thanks!

You always come up with the most interesting books that I have never even heard of. It looks like my to be read pile will continue to grow. That's ok I plan on reading the rest of my life so I am sure I will eventually get to every book I've collected. Now if only they wouldn't let me into the public library.

Hubby's been bugging me for my Christmaas wish list, I am definitely going to put some audio books on that list - I think it's cool to listen to a book while doing chores! Thanks for the idea, booklogged!

Got your post and will of course be summing up all my accomplishments - should there be any - for the challenge. If anything I am doing this for the brag factor. ;)

This wasn't my favorite of the series. Too much Polly and not enought Koko.

My sister and I had two Siamese when we were growing up. But my cat had a split personality disorder. Or bipolar disorder. We're not sure which.

Jenclair, they are fun and very light reading.

SuziQ, my husband and I listen to books on tape when we are traveling, too. Sometimes I'll read to him while he drives. It's fun to share a book together in that way, isn't it?

aka Nik, after making a blunder or two, I finally posted an answer to your question on your last post. Hope you got it.

Christina, I love going to the library. All those books to choose from and you don't have to pay a single penny. Heaven!

Lotus, don't suggest this series to him. These are probably not worth the money, but they're okay if you check them out from the library. Best to ask for something you'd like to read more than once. Audio books can be quite expensive.

Nessie, I also left a comment on your blog explaining my blunder. Hope you got it, so you'll understand my mistake. Pretty funny.

Framed, you're right - there was a lot of Polly. I don't see what Qwill sees in her. Maybe the options are limited in Pickax.

Angela, I always thought that every Siamese had some personality disorder.
