I'm very excited to be hosting this drawing for a free, signed, first edition book written by first time author Colleen Gleason. I have not read The Rest Falls Away since it won't be released until January 2, 2007, but the trailer is captivating and I'm sure the book will be too.
Here's a brief book description offered on Amazon.com:
In every generation, a Gardella is called to accept the family legacy of vampire slaying, and this time, Victoria Gardella Grantworth is chosen, on the eve of her debut, to carry the stake. But as she moves between the crush of ballrooms and dangerous, moonlit streets, Victoria's heart is torn between London's most eligible bachelor, the Marquess of Rockley, and her enigmatic ally, Sebastian Vioget. And when she comes face to face with the most powerful vampire in history, Victoria must ultimately make the choice between duty and love.Sounds romantic and thrilling all in one, doesn't it? This contest is easy - just leave a comment and I will put your name in for the drawing, which will take place on New Year's Day. The deadline for entries is midnight on New Year's Eve. Colleen will sign the book and send it off to you. What could be better?
In the meantime, visit Colleen at her blog, For All the World to See. It's a fun, fun blog. Her Dec. 1 post shows her ecstatic feelings when she received the first copy of her book. This is just one of two pictures she shared on her blog.
On the sidebar of For All the World to See is a message board where you can have a conversation with Colleen and ask her questions about the book, her writing experience, her inspirations, etc.
Colleen also has an author website where you can read more about The Rest Falls Away and enter a contest to get your name featured in one of the books of the series.

Ooo! Ooo!! I read about that book and I really want to read it! How do we sign up?
You just did sign up, Adrienne! Good Luck.
With a little shudder, I jump into the vampire pool. I am going to check out the author's site. Sounds like fun.
The trailer is great isn't it!! I am looking forward to reading this, although of course it would be better if I won it!!
Me, too! I'm fascinated with the variety and caliber of vampire novels. Fingers crossed!
I haven't read a vampire book since the Anne Rice days and thought I'd lost interest. This one, though, sounds too good to pass up.
Love the new look of your blog!!! Please cuont me in for your draw!!
Hey! I tried to go to her site but it would not load!! :( My computer has crazy amounts of RAM (this is what happens when you write on a comp you invest in these crazy things)
Can't wait to see who wins! How does she know where to send it to??
I have my fingers crossed for each one of you. I hope you win.
Nessie, that's a good question. I will announce the winner on New Year's Day and that person will need to email me their address which I will pass on to Colleeen.
I saw the review in PW and thought the book looked pretty good. PW even put a photo of the cover on their Contents page.

I can't say that I've ever read a vampire story, but the trailer made it look quite fun. And trying new things is always good, right?
I have been considering reading this, winning it would be even better!
Can't wait to read this one. Always fun to visit the vampires lair. Thanks for the chance to win a copy!
It looks like a great read! Keeping my fingers crossed that I get picked.

Consider me entered, and thanks for hosting the contest. I'm hoping this vampire novel is a good one, as I've tapped out most of the rest. Ooooh, you've given me a contest idea for my debut contest next year! Thanks.

Happy holidays,
I would love a new *signed* book to read! Oh, and Season's Readings!
This just may be in conjunction with Buy A Friend a Book Week (which by my calculation is in five days). At any rate, I would love a new book. One can never own too many books. I think. Bellezza
