by Dean KoontzI'm finally getting around to writing a review for this book that I finished in June. It took me a month. A whole month! to read a Koontz novel. That's unheard of for me. I thought reading a Koontz would definitely shake me out of my reading lull, but it didn't. I'm still being a slug.
I thoroughly enjoyed Odd Hours, which is book four in the Odd Thomas series. Odd has taken up temporary residence in a small ocean side town where he feels there is something he needs to do. He meets some interesting people and prevents a catastrophic event.

It's so good to see a new post from you! And, apparently, you enjoyed Odd Hours much better than I did. I couldn't even finish it!
I hope you're having a good summer. It's hot & humid here and I'm so ready to head to VA and hit the beach for a few days. Only two weeks until we go. The countdown has begun!
Les, you really don't seem to be enjoying the Odd series very much, with the exception of the first. I think I must just settle in for the ride when I pick up Dean Koontz. I do admit that the girl bothered me a bit. I forget her name.

I wanted to wish you a safe and relaxing time in VA. If you want to escape the humidity you should visit hot, dry Utah! I remember the humidity in NE - sitting in classes with perspiration dripping off my forehead. That was with no exertion, just sitting and I was a skinny teenager. But, things are greener in NE than they are in UT.
Haven't read this one yet but enjoyed (or mostly enjoyed) the others. Will have to read this soon.

As for Odd Hours, I can't wait to read it. I had to return it to the library unread. :( My husband read it while it was here and really enjoyed it. I have loved Odd throughout, but I didn't care for some of the storyline in Brother Odd.
I can't say I've ever read any Koontz books (there are so many!) but my husband has been (mostly) enjoying this series in the last few weeks. Maybe I'll have to give them a try...
The girl bothered me, too. Her "peace-love-karma-good vibe" attitude drove me crazy!
Thanks for the good wishes for our trip. I'm looking forward to it! Our granddaughter turns 6 next week, so I anticipate lots of good times. :)
I know all about that dry heat. I spent a few years in Red Bluff, CA. I recall one summer when it hit 118! But it was a dry heat. :)
