'To Be Read' List

I do not intend to read all the books on this list, which serves only as an aid to me when I'm searching for a book at the library, bookstore, or online. It provides a common place to record book. What an exciting book list you've got here, Booklogged.
Rosamunde Pilcher just has to be my one of my favourite authors of all time. Especially with her stories of The Shell Seekers and September, that changed forever how I myself would approach and write fiction. To say nothing of the heartwarming sentiments, both books conveyed heartily to me.

Susan, so glad to hear that. Haven't read any Pilcher's yet, but now I look forward to them with even more interest.

That is such an extensive list!

I have to agree with Susan above. I love Rosamunde Pilcher, as well. I thought I had read everything published by her, but I've not read Under Gemini. I'll put it on hold at the library tomorrow. I've also read a book by Pilcher's son Robin. He may have written more - I'm not sure.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ami McKay's The Birth House. I did a review of it in April. You can find it at
http://thebooksnook.blogspot.com/2006/04/birth-house.html

I also enjoyed Dan Brown's Angels and Demons - better than The DaVinci Code.

Have you ever read anything by Maeve Binchy? She is one of my favourites - lovely stories of Ireland.

Thanks for the great list. I'll be looking for a few of these books at the library on my next visit.

Library Mama, our book club selection one month was Tara Road by Maeve Binchy, but for some reason I didn't read it - something must have been going on. Is there any of hers that you would highly recommend. I'll add them to my list, which I'm going to need 3 lifetimes to get through!

I'm heading over to read your review of Birth House.

I suppose literature is a very personal thing, so it's hard to know which you would like the most. My favourite, though, was Evening Class. Binchy takes several people with fairly diverse backgrounds and shows how their lives mesh when they take an evening class in the Italian language. I really loved it.

Have you ever seen the movie Circle of Friends? It is based on a Maeve Binchy book.

I love Maeve Binchy. I think I have one of her books, but I'm not sure. I need to catalog them. I also own the Bartimaeus Triology, Opposite of Fate (Cassie has it right now) and The Hundred Secret Senses. Then I am not looking at your list again since some of them look inviting and I can't add any more to my TBR list. I just left Amazon.com. I only ordered one book and a bunch of DVD's
