I'm stunned that I'm now adding 5 more books to my list...as soon as I can decide which ones. Well, not really, this is absolutely my favorite kind of reading!

You're reading Neverwhere as one of your books?!?!?! I think you win automatically because of that! LOL!

I'm just itching to read Neverwhere for the millionth time...maybe in November.

I've got The Thirteenth Tale on order - it should be in the end of September. I'm going to add it to my list.

Carl, how could I not join in such an enticing challenge?! Only I feel like jenclair - what am I do adding more books to my already lengthy list? My daughter and I listened to Coraline by Gaiman a couple of years ago and I loved it, so I'm anxious to read another of his and with such encouragement, carl and quixotic, I look forward to Neverwhere with even greater interest. Ex libris, I put a copy of Thirteenth Tale on hold at the library. Hope they don't take too long processing it.

hm, I am getting Stardust by Neil Gaiman... maybe I should get this Neverwhere book too! haha, but I shouldn't. I have Caroline to read too. I guess I know my five books.

Good Omens is a good Gaiman book too, he wrote it with Terry Pratchett. I loved it :)

This sounds like so much fun, booklogged! I am sooooo tempted to join in, but I have never been any good at reading within a set timeframe. I've never read a Neil Gaiman, not even Coraline, but I think I might like to give him a try. Which one of his novels would you suggest I start with?

So I was at the bookstore and happened to see "Neverwhere" and I am reading the back of it. It decided to ride home in my bag. Hey, who's complaining! lol

I'll just have to go on a Gaiman reading spree. :)

booklogged, thanks for 'advertising' this. I think it's a great idea, and I'm excited to join in with you and the others.

I like Neil Gaiman, so I think I'll have to pick up Neverwhere. Which I'm not really familiar with.

OH MY!!!! Neverwhere is my favorite. I am so excited that all of you are reading Gaiman stuff, especially Neverwhere. It is so great, in my non-objective "I worship Neil Gaiman" opinion.

So glad you are all joining in, I am very excited.

Your list just reminded me of The Thirteenth Tale. I've seen other people mention it and it sounds really good. I'll have to check my library.

I keep seeing this challenge everywhere I go (the blogosphere is such a nice little community, isn't it?), but I think I'll have to pass, unfortunately. I've already started my Back-to-School Classics challenge and have enough on my plate for the next few months. I'll enjoy reading all about the challenge in the weeks to come, however. Good luck!

I can't watch scary movies and I don't think scary books will sit well with me either. It may be the curse of living alone. Guess I'll stick with my current TBR list and feel glad I'm not adding any more books to it.

I can't wait to read about your choices! It is a great challenge.

Thanks for the link on words without borders, too - I had read that they were doing Ma Jian this month, and then forgotten again. I think I'm going to read it, I've been meaning to for a while!

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog :)

It looks like you have some interesting reads in store for you. I've never read Dracula so I thought I would give it a try this year. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat so I'll be sure to read it during the day ;)

Lots of luck on the R.I.P challenge!

BTW - I really need to read The Thirteenth Tale. I've been reading so much advance praise on it so I'll be keeping an eye out to see what you think of it.

Kailana, isn't it funny how those books just wiggle in to our shopping bags?! So will you be reading "Neverwhere" for the RIP challenge. It will be fun to compare notes.

Lotus, I've only reading one of Gaiman's and that was Coraline which I listened to on a tape while on a trip with my teenage daughter. That was her choice and I fought it, but it ended up being really good. It's been over two years and I still think about it. Good messages.

Bellezza, you'll be reading "Neverwhere" with Kailana and I. Terrific. This will make for good book talk.

Iliana, doesn't "The Thirteenth Tale" sound fascinating? If both our libraries pull through and get it on the shelves soon, we can read and discuss it together.

Les, I need to read more classics. Maybe when RIP is over, we'll have to do a Winter Curl-up with a Classic Challenge. Has a certain ring to it, don't you think?

I've seen this posted on lots of blogs and I've thought about doing it myself (it looks fun, plus the logo is cool looking), but I've got so much going on that I can barely find time to read the book I started weeks ago. Sigh.

The curl up with a classic challenge sounds fun to me...would be a great Nov-Dec or Jan challenge!!! If you do it, I'm in!!!

Lotus Reads said...

Yeay, booklogged, love the sound of the classic challenge. If it does come about, count me in, please!

The Thirteenth Tale is simply terrific. Think Jane Eyre, think Wuthering Heights, think Rebecca, think Turn of the Screw with just a hint of the Secret Garden and you have some idea of what it is like. I read it practically through one night. It is going to be HUGE

Kristina, hopefully there will be a challenge going when you have more time on your hands. I'm lucky because I only have one at home and she's a senior.

Carl, I'll start planning a Curl Up Challenge.

Emasl, thanks for the comment. I'm so excited now to read 'Thirteenth Tale' but I have to finish 'Dracula' first. BTW I'm really into it.

I like your blog and I like to read. It's amazing to me how you and others can create such beautiful posts. Please check out my blog. Mine's not nearly as good as yours. I haven't been able to get any pictures on it but I think I might have figured it out and will try in the future.

This sounds like a fun challenge. I wish I had the time to read any books. Unfortunately school and unpacking has kept me totally busy, and I still need to make time to find a job.
