Another great challenge - this one is not just for reading, but for watching. Becky of Becky's Book Reviews is hosting this fun Austen Mini-Challenge.
The aim is to read and/or watch at least two Jane Austen novels/movies in 2008. Masterpiece Theatre is showing all 6 movies in the 2008 season.
Becky is making the challenge very easy and fun. You can either read or watch a Jane Austen related book or movie. She even said we could watch Becoming Jane if we wanted to. I want to!
I am going to try to watch all 6 of the Masterpiece Theatre's selections:
1. Emma
2. Mansfield Park
3. Northanger Abbey
4. Persuasion
5. Pride and Prejudice (Ahhhh...)
6. Sense and Sensibility
AND I want to read 2 of Austen's books other than Pride and Prejudice which I've already read.
AND for an extra umph and reward I want to read Becoming Jane and then watch that movie.
Thanks Becky, for designing this great challenge. I'm really looking forward to this. And didn't Booknut create a perfect button for the challenge? Awesome, Booknut.

Good luck to all who participate in this challenge. I love Jane Austen and can't wait for the Masterpiece Theatre showings.
I've seen 3 of those movies: Emma, Pride and Prejudice, and Sense and Sensibility...I have to say I love, love, love Sens and Sensibility! I watch it over and over.. every time it comes on tv!! Of course it helps tremendously that Alan Rickman portrays such a fantastice Col. Brandon!
I'm joining this challenge too!! I feel so unread!! I've only read Persuasion by Austen. Very good book!
i listened to northanger abbey a few weeks ago on my ipod. this is a good, pleasant challenge!

What's the ahhh for next to P and P? I am guessing it is a good ahhh:)
Kay, thanks for the good luck wish. I think I'm going to need it with all the challenges I've already signed up for in 2008.
Deslily, I've only seen Pride and Prejudice. Am really looking forward to the others. Glad to hear how much you like Sense and Sensibility. I'll pay special attention to Alan Rickman!
Stephanie, I feel unread, too. I didn't read classics in high school. My English classes definitely failed me there. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have enjoyed them in high school.
Melissa, that's a good idea. Since I retired I don't listen to my ipod driving to and from work. I'll have to start walking.
Hi Book, The ahhh was for the picture of Colin Firth that popped into my head while I typed Pride & Prejudice!
Thought so, I have similar thoughts!
Finally, the perfect challenge! Wish I'd thought of it :)
