Blogging Anniversary

Today is my blog-iversary. It's been one year since I started my blog and I want to celebrate by giving away a book. Sometime during the year I read and enjoyed The Illuminator by Brenda Rickman Vantrease. I would like to pass it along so someone else can enjoy it as well. If you will leave your name in the comments, I will hold a drawing on Feb 28 at noon and announce the winner that afternoon.

The Illuminator is a historical fiction that takes place in the late 14th century. A master illuminator has two secrets that lead both himself and his beloved daughter into ever-increasing peril.

My first blog was titled Books I Would Like to ReRead. There were 2 comments, which I appreciated very much because I didn't think anyone would bother reading my blog. I started blogging to keep a record of the books I'd read, along with a brief synopsis to remind me what they were about. I had kept a written journal before but thought it would be quicker and easier to type, especially with those books that I had a lot of passages I wanted to keep track off.

Little did I realize that blogging would introduce me to book bloggers from all over the world who would share wonderful book suggestions and friendship. It's been a delightful year filled with sweet memories. Thank-you all!

I'm not here to enter the drawing so you don't need to put my name in. I'm here to wish you a very Happy Blogiversary.

I totally agree that blogging has led me to so many booklovers and bookbloggers all over the world. I'm very happy that you are one of those I've met along the way.

A celebration is definitely called for this one year anniversary!

I was delighted to discover your blog because we shared many of the same interests and enjoyed many of the same books.

Don't put my name in the drawing because I've read The Illuminator--another example of being drawn to similar books. I fell in love with the cover.

Happy Blog-iversary!

I just wanted to wish you a happy anniversary, Booklogged. Much like you, I began my blog simply as a way to record my thoughts about the books I read, maybe share that with a couple of friends. I never realized how much of a blogging community for people like us was out there.

I enjoy visiting your blog and look forward to doing so in the year to come (and beyond!).

Happy Blog-iversary!

This sure has been fun, hasn't it? I started mine for the same reason as you and never did I think I'd be meeting people around the world. Many people think books are a "lonely" interest...far from it! :)

I look forward to reading your blog for many more years.

(Please do not put my name in for the drawing.)

Booklogged, congratulations on your first blog birthday.

Please include my name in the drawing. The author has a web site, where this clip was posted:

"Publisher's Weekly calls the novel '...enthralling..compelling...brilliantly sketched...absorbing, expertly told...' (starred review)"

Happy Blogiversary, booklogged! Here's to many many more!

Someone said we read to know we're not alone; perhaps blogging helps us to realize how true this is.
All I wanted to say is that your blog is always a pleasure to read.

Cool idea. I love historical fiction, so I will try for the book. I am almost exactly one year behind you, doing the same thing - book blogging and reading about books. It was your classic challenge that got me into this world, so thanks for that as well.

Look at all you've accomplished in the blog world, even hosting your own challenge. Not to mention sucking me into the netherworld of book blogging. I'm sure having fun. And I think it would be smart to draw my name because you would save on postage. I'll drive by and get it.

Thank-you all for the kind greetings. This little chat in the comments is the best part of blogging. I appreciate your comments and your friendship. I have my fingers crossed that each one of you wins this book. I know that's an impossibility, but I still want you all to win.

Book, it's been a long time since I've visited your book blog, but I'm glad I did, so I can wish you a Happy Anniversary! I can't believe we've all been blogging so long - seems like yesterday! I think it's so cool how many people that we don't know comment on this blog. Shows what a talented, articulate, and interesting writer you are. I love you and wish for your continued happiness - in blogging and everything else!

I started my blog for the same reasons as you, just a little over a year ago - and was just as surprised to find a whole world of book bloggers! And I'm still thrilled when someone comments on one of my posts. :)

Congratulations on your blog anniversary!

Congratulations on your anniversary! I've loved seeing you comment on my own blog.

I'm not going to join your drawing because I already have a copy on Mt. TBR, but I did want to celebrate with you!

Happy belated blogiversary, Booklogged! Wow, that book has a beautiful cover.

I felt exactly the same way when I began my blog and people commented. I was stunned and excited. I've been unable to comment on many blogs for a long time, but finally have DSL so I'm looking forward to getting back to reading your posts!! Thanks, again, for hosting the classics challenge. I really just can't thank you enough. :)
