Chunkster Challenge

I vowed I wasn't going to join any more challenges, but this one will fit in without any major adjustments in my reading schedule. I already have several chunksters in the plans for 2008.

The challenge, as issued by Dana from So Many Books, So Little Time is to read 4 chunksters during the year. My list is:
1. Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke
2. Colony of Unrequited Dreams by Wayne Johnston
3. Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly
4. Winter Rose by Jennifer Donnelly

I'm so glad you are joining in! I hope you enjoy Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell as much as I did.

Thanks for taking on the National Just Read More Novels Month challenge and I see you are already a triple winner. I have a badge for a deca-winner, but I have never seen anyone claim it. You may have a shot.

The great thing about NaJuReMoNo is that people can join in any time in January and all the novels they have already read that month count retroactively.

Congratulations and good luck. I think I have a copy of Jonathon Strange hidden around my house somewhere but I won't get to it for awhile. I've just started Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman.

I had commented here but I thnk blogget ate it up!

Hope you will not blame me for joining more challenges. I agree, those ARE addictive! NaJuReMoNoMo is fun! One does not have a make a list! I already finished 6!

BTW, I have added you to my blogroll. You too do so if you like.

Have a great reading year!

I will be including Jonathan Strange on my Chunkster list (which will be posted sometime soon). If you play your cards right, you could read it in September/October and include it with the RIP challenge - that's my plan! Tea Rose is on my 2008 TBR challenge list.

I just finished Winter Rose! It was quite good although there were parts that were a bit much.

Lit Feline, I am enjoying JS&MN so far. I think it's going to take me forever to read it though. I need to have it and 3 other book finished by the end of Feb.

Yellojkt, hope you enjoy Neverwhere. Gaiman is quite the enjoyable author. I look forward to reading your thoughts about it. Thanks for doing the National Just Read More Novels Month. Great idea.

Guatami Tripathy, I'm not sure how many novels I'll get read this month now that I've started Jonathan Strange. YIKES it's a fat book. I will gladly add you to my blog roll. Thanks.

Stephanie, it's too late - I've already started Jonathan Strange and I have it on 2 challenges that finish before Oct. What was I thinking?!

Heather, The publisher is sending me a copy of Winter Rose. When I accepted I didn't realize it was such a fatty. I've heard good things about Jennifer Donnelly but haven't read anything of hers yet.

I'm not joining in on this one, but do have Johnathon Strange & Mr. Norrell to read this year. I was so surprised when I ordered it and it turned out to be so BIG! Looking forward to diving in later in the year and to reading your review as well.

I enjoyed Colony so much it didn't feel like a clunkster at all. I also enjoyed it so much that I'm reluctant to read the sequel- afraid it can't live up to the first.

Jonathan Strange was a fabulous read. Hope you like it too.

And tea fanatics will probably enjoy the Donnelly books!

I just read the Tea Rose! And I have Winter Rose on my stack. It's huge stack, though. Enjoy!
