DNF & Giveaway - Rough Country

by John Sanford

This a review copy that I thought I would like.  I wanted to like it but after 110 pages I realized I didn't like it.  When I decided to quit I tried to encourage myself to, at least,  find out who committed the murder and how, but I just didn't care.

If you've read a book by John Sanford that you liked please tell me.  I would like to give this author another try because I suspect I may like a different one.  This one just didn't do anything for me.

If you would like to win this book, just say so in a comment.  I will draw a winner on Oct 11.

This contest has ended.

I've read the first several books in his "Prey" series and enjoyed them but I've fallen away from it so I can't speak for his newest in there series.

As for this one, go ahead and put my name into the pot. I'll give it a try.

I like his Prey/Lucas Davenport series, but don't know anything about this one. Don't bother adding my name to the giveaway. I have enough on my plate. :)

No need to put me in the giveaway.

I liked Sandford's early "Prey" books the best. My favorite were the ones that had the oh-so-creepy Dr. Michael Becker in them. I think they were "Eyes of Prey" and "Silent Prey". But depending on why you didn't like Rough Country, you may not like the Prey books either. Lucas Davenport as a character is annoying after a while with all his drooling after women or vice versa, but the mysteries themselves are good. If it was Viril Flowers you didn't like (this was a Flowers book, right?), you may not like Lucas either.

CJ, I knew I had seen his name somewhere. I'll give his Prey series a try. Thank-you.

Les, I have quite enough on my plate, too. Totally understand. If only I could read as fast as I can eat! And as much!

Lezlie, I didn't mind Flowers, but if there's a lot of 'drooling' I may not like Davenport.

Booklogged ~ He's quite the ladies man in the first part of the series, so if you can just roll your eyes and ignore it, the story is worth it. :-)

I love the Lucas Davenport/Prey series - I have from the first to his latest one. I have also read a couple of his other books. So far, I like how he writes. I haven't read this one, so please, include me in this contest/drawing.
